SDFRA announces the winners of our 2008 Scholarships

We received many outstanding applications, but only a handful of applicants' scores* qualified them to receive a grant from the SDFRA annual Scholarship Awards Program. Congratulations to the following individuals whose outstanding submissions to this year's scholarship program placed them in the final six.
High School Students:
Amanda Tucker, daughter of Engineer David Tucker
John Rogers, son of retired Captain Joseph Rogers
Fallen Firefighter Memorial Scholarship:
Matthew Roberts, son of Engineer Kirk RobertsCollege Students:

These six scholarship winners were honored at the SDFRA Scholarship Awards and Appreciation Luncheon on March 28, 2008.
Rules and essay topics for the 2009 Scholarship Awards Program have not been determined. For general information on the program, go to our members page.
*Scholarship applications are scored by the San Diego Education Association. Scorers are not provided with any identifying information about applicants or their families.
